Primary Weapon Systems: A/OA-10A, EC-130H, EC130E
Mission: To train and provide combat-ready A/OA-10A pilots, squadrons, forward air controllers, air liaison officers; EC-130H command and EC-130E communications countermeasures to unified commanders. Provide initial training for all A-10A pilots. Serve as the ACCEL executive agent for treaty compliance. Provides support to 24 tenant units.
History: The base was activiated in 1924. Charles Lindbergh officially conducted the base opening ceremonies. The base was named for two local early aviators, who died in separate flight accidents; 1st Lt Samuel H. Davis, killed December 22, 1921, and 2nd Lt Oscar Monthan, killed March 27, 1924.
